I just got myself a new 500e and I'm still getting the hang of things. Curious to know the best way to charge it - should I be going for fast charging when I can, or is it better to stick to slower, more frequent charges? And is it better to let the battery run all the way down before recharging or what?

Also, any recos for controlling the charging remotely? Like, are there any apps or systems that make it easier?

Love to hear any tips or advice you've got...

Cheers.

It's generally better to charge your EV more frequently for shorter durations. This helps maintain battery health and longevity. Avoid letting the battery drain completely, as this can negatively impact its performance. While fast charging is convenient, it's best to limit its use to occasional long trips....

Although slow charging is preferable, even the quickest AC chargers have a slow charging speed. DC rapid charging should only be used for lengthy excursions. Avoid completely draining your battery; try not to let it drop below 20%. When the battery is fully charged, it balances itself.

If you want to be extra cautious, don't charge it above 80%, but it's acceptable to keep it at 100%.

Hey Salty, congrats on your 500e! It's best to charge regularly, avoiding full discharges. For remote control, the Fiat 500e app helps manage charging times and settings. Fast charging is fine occasionally.
