Hi, everyone!

A few years ago, in 2017, I bought a 2015 500e with around 5000 miles. This year I reached the mark of 59k miles. The problem is the HV battery pack has decreased a lot. For example. On days with around 45F, it gets me only 50 miles (good condition roads), on a full charge.
Now I have to use gas for driving kids around. I am seeking a solution to upgrade the HV battery pack. Is it possible? Has anyone done this before, or know a shop in the USA that does this?
I bought the car because I didn't want to use our gas cars.
Any thoughts, please?

I don't what to say, except that a battery replacement would leave you without money. Have you contacted the dealership? What did they say?

Heard that upgrading to newer cells was totally an option, or that some folks were even breaking down other HV battery packs and add it. But let’s be real - most of that comes at the cost of back seats and trunk space, and you definitely can’t ditch those when you’ve got kids to haul around, right?

I reached out to a local EV specialist who helped me replace the HV battery. They sourced a compatible battery that significantly improved my range. Now, in good condition. I can get about 80 miles on a full charge. The process was a bit costly, but it was worth it to get back to electric driving. I also made sure to keep the back seats and trunk space intact, so I can still haul the kids around comfortably.
Thanks for all the suggestions.
