£30 pre-auth hold for a charger that didn’t even work with three of my cars? Seriously?! I get the idea, but that's excessive. On the plus side, I stumbled onto a 350kW charger nearby, 42p/kWh, so it’s cheaper than Instavolt but still not as wallet-friendly as ChargePlace or PodPoint.

Anyone else got horror stories with these pre-auth holds, or know how to dodge them?

Considering how much power a 350kW charger can provide, £30 seems pretty reasonable. You’re lucky to have one nearby my closest reliable 50kW charger is almost 50 miles away and it’s 50p per kWh

Honestly, it’s not even about the price, it’s just that the charger didn’t work with three of my cars! I get the whole security deposit deal, but it kinda feels like I’m being punished for something that’s totally out of my control.

I missed the part when you said it didn't work with three of your cars, sorry. That's really nasty!
