I’m getting ready to re-solder a new 3-prong plug head onto the end of my Fiat 500e charger, and I want to make sure it can handle the load properly without any issues. The charger has been great so far, but the plug has been showing some wear and tear, and I figured it was time for a small DIY fix. I’m no stranger to small electrical repairs, but this is the first time I’m tackling something that deals with the charger for an EV.
I've been looking around at plug head options, but I’m still not 100% sure what’s the safest and most reliable choice for the load balance on this setup. I want to avoid any overheating or damaging the charger. does anyone have any recommendations on a specific plug head that works well with EV chargers like the one for the 500e? should watch out for when soldering and replacing the plug?
