just as you said, you already have the fancy tools, just skip that part and diagnose your vehicle for less hassle, I don't think it will have any implications on what the scanner will show you.

You already used an OBD scanner and it still shows the same results? did you make sure that there are no wirings out of place? i think its time to let the professionals handle this. it might get more expensive if things got out of hand.
fixing simple things in any vehicle will improve the overall performance. even just putting grease on motor vehicles improves the consistency of its function. Because of that, I am now scheduling maintenance checks just to make sure that everything works well.
