When I turned on the AC, I heard a loud humming. Turning up the fan speed to maximum and then turning off the AC while leaving the fan on eliminated the noise. What could be causing the problem?

Looks like your AC compressor might be acting up, could be a faulty part or a wonky bearing causing those annoying vibrations and noise. Plus, if your engine mounts are a bit worn out, they’ll definitely crank up those vibes when the AC compressor is running.

You know, some car owners have found success at auto A/C specialty shops that offer system flushing and cleaning, as well as compressor rebuilding when necessary. Given the high cost of a new compressor, this can be a super smart and wallet-friendly move!

Just make sure that whoever’s tackling that job, gives the whole system a good flush! Failing to do so could lead to pieces getting dislodged, and trust me, that can mess up the compressor big time.

Exactly! And it’s not just about the flush, they gotta keep an eye out for any leaks or damage while they’re at it. A tiny leak can blow up into a major headache if it’s left unchecked!
