I just came across this article about a Fiat 500e that had an onboard charger (OBC) failure

It's a pretty short read, but it might give us some clues about the common failure points. It seems like the OBC module itself is the most likely culprit.

Has anyone else here experienced OBC problems in their Fiat 500e? If so, how did you fix it? I'm also curious if anyone has used a FLIR gun to diagnose the issue. I've heard that thermal imaging can be really helpful in troubleshooting electrical problems.

I haven’t run into any OBC issues with my 500e, but using a FLIR gun for thermal imaging seems like a smart way to troubleshoot electrical problems. Hopefully, others can share if they've had OBC failures. I will like to know if this issue is common

So, I think you are on the right track with the decision to look into the onboard charger module as a potential issue.

I haven't had OBC issues, but I have a friend who had similar issues. What helped him was checking the wiring and connections around the OBC.
Good idea with the FLIR gun. I haven't used one. I don't know anyone who has used it, but I read that it can help in such situations. Anyway, if the OBC is the issue, then I guess you will have to replace it (pay attention to the part numbers and compatibility before purchasing a new module). Please update the thread once you have some results.
