I've been reading through the threads about flashing goalposts and I'm still not entirely sure what they mean. It seems like most people agree that it's a sign that the car doesn't want to charge right now, but there doesn't seem to be a consensus on the exact cause.

Has anyone found a reliable way to fix flashing goalposts? I've tried letting the car sit for a few minutes, but that doesn't always work.

When you say you let the car sit for a few minutes, what exactly does it mean? Did you turn off the car completely?
Check the battery. The 12v batteries can cause electrical system issues. Flashing goalposts is one of them. Try to disconnect and reconnect it.
If nothing works, then going to the dealership might be the latest solution...

Flashing goalposts actually indicate a problem with either the car or the EVSE that's stopping the charge. It's not just the car saying, "Nah, I'm good!" While it can be frustrating, there are many possible causes, so it's best to troubleshoot further to find a reliable fix.
