Hey gang!

Does anyone have any idea on how to turn off the charge timer when the radio and screen are dead? Apologies if this seem like a basic question, but I can't guess what the charge timer is set to when the 12 volt battery is replaced. Sometimes we really need to charge, but the timer thinks it’s during our utility’s high-price hours.

I really want to know if there is a way to disable the charger timer without the control screen? or if any idea what time the car’s internal clock starts at when the 12v battery is reconnected? For example, does it reset to midnight, noon, or a specific day/time? The car is a 2016 500e

Thanks for the help!

You can check when the car's clock hits reset after you mess with the 12V battery, just pop off the negative terminal for around 30 seconds, hook it back up, and from there, you can check out what date and time shows up on the clock!

Which cord are you using? Are you using the latest OEM one?

Are you really sure it’s just a simple plug/unplug to turn off the charge timer? Because from what I know, messing with that timer can be tricky especially without the control screen.
You're right, I'm not sure if it's as simple as plug/unplug. It does seem tricky without the control screen, which is why I was trying to figure out a workaround. Do you know of any other ways to turn off the timer or reset it?

Thanks for the tip! I’ll try that and see what time the clock resets to. Appreciate it!
