I recently came across a discussion in which someone mentioned removing the HV fuse from their EV while it was being stored for an extended period. They reported no battery loss while the vehicle was parked and unplugged for a month or more while undergoing major repairs or modifications.

This got me thinking—could removing the HV fuse really be the key to maintaining battery health during those lengthy breaks? If anyone has tried this method or has tips for long-term storage, I’d love to hear about your experiences! It seems like a great way to avoid potential battery drain while keeping the car out of commission for a while.

I haven't tried this, but it sounds like a smart way to prevent battery drain during long storage. If anyone has tried this method, it would be great to know.

Pulling the HV fuse is a smart move to keep your battery in top shape, since it kicks those annoying parasitic drains to the curb. Just make sure to juice it up to around 50% before you tuck it away!

I hadn’t thought about pulling the HV fuse as a way to avoid those, but it makes a lot of sense. good point about the parasitic drains! seems like a smart move, especially for longer storage periods. I’ll be sure to charge the battery up to around 50% like you mentioned before pulling the fuse, sounds like a solid plan to help keep the battery healthy.

Have you tried this yourself? I’m curious if there are things to watch out for when pulling the fuse. Definitely want to make sure I’m doing it right before putting the car into storage! 😖
