My Dash display has stopped working

Hi, I need some help with my 2016 Fiat 500e.

It has around 75K miles, and I ran into an issue yesterday while driving home, it had about 18% charge (11 miles away), the dash display and turn signals suddenly stopped working. I checked the 12V battery (which is less than 6 months old) with my monitor, and it was fine, it showed 13.23V. The car was still driving okay, so I made it home using hand signals. I backed into the garage without a problem and plugged it into a 120V charger. It started charging like normal.

It was fully charged this morning, and the center console was working, but the dash display is still out. I have checked the owner's manual but nothing seems off.

Any ideas on what might be going on?

If you’re getting 13.23V with the car off, that’s chill, but when you fire up the engine or plug it in, it should be rocking over 14V. You might wanna check those battery terminals - make sure they’re tight, no way they should be coming loose by hand!

Ok, so since the 12V battery is all good and the car’s charging like it should, it could possibly be an electrical hiccup, maybe something funky with the main power system or a little software glitch. Have you tried disconnecting the 12V battery for a few minutes, then hook it back up? It’ll give those electronics a nice little reset! See if that works!

You might also wanna check for any blown fuses connected to the dashboard or instrument cluster. Just another solid tip to keep in mind, esp. if the other stuff doesn’t do the trick!

Oh, and btw I forgot to mention, don't forget to peek at whether there’s a software update for your Fiat 500e as well! Those little electronic gremlins can sometimes be kicked to the curb with a quick update. Goodluck!

Thanks, but I have checked the battery terminals, and yup they are very tight. It’s good to know the voltage should be over 14V when the car’s on, I’ll keep an eye on that. I appreciate your help,

I actually tried disconnecting the 12V battery for a few minutes, but it didn’t fix the dash issue. I appreciate the suggestion, though.

I’ll definitely check for any software updates. I know those updates can sometimes resolve pesky electronic issues. I appreciate your help.

Maybe it's just a glitch. A full reboot of your car might fix it.

I’m a bit hesitant to do a full reboot since it can reset all my personal settings and preferences. I’m concerned about losing things like my saved radio stations and navigation favorites, and I’m not even sure if it would even fix the dash display issue. I will explore other options first. thanks
