Hi all,

I'll like to know how effective is the 2016 Fiat 500e heater in cold weather? Does using the the heater affect your range? Thanks

I know it takes only a few minutes to heat the car, but yes, in very cold weather it may take longer to reach the temperature you want. Yes, it affects the range... The heater can draw at least 1-1.5 kW of power. But, again, it depends on the weather. The longer you need to heat, the more energy it will draw. So, in conclusion, yes, using the heater affects your range. I couldn't say an exact number. But expect 10% to 20% or even more under abnormal conditions.

For sure, yes, using the heater can really drain your range - like 30% or more from what I've seen, based on how cold it is and how long you use it. It’s crazy how much it can eat up your battery!

It’s also best to take it easy behind the wheel. Gentle starts and stops can really boost your efficiency. If it’s a bit chilly, remember that your battery might not be at its best, so gentle driving is key. And if your Fiat 500e has an Eco mode, definitely switch that on too,it helps you get the most from each charge!

That’s right. And on top of that, it’s way smarter to use those seat heaters instead of cranking up the cabin heater. They sip less energy and will keep you toasty without messing with your driving range as much.

Oh thanks, now I know what to expect with the heater's impact on range. I appreciate the heads-up about the potential drop, especially in extreme cold. I’ll keep that in mind for my trips.

Wow, more than 30% is a lot! That’s definitely something to keep in mind during the winter months. I appreciate the heads-up, I’ll be sure to plan accordingly to avoid any surprises.

Just a quick tip, pre-condition your car while it’s still plugged in. It’ll keep you toasty without draining the battery! :)
Great tip! I hadn’t thought of pre-conditioning while it’s still plugged in...it looks like a perfect way to stay warm without affecting my range. Thanks

Of course! Gentle driving + Eco mode is the perfect combo in colder weather. Thanks

Glad I could help! If you have any other questions or need tips for winter driving, feel free to ask. But I think you don't need it anymore. You got a lot of insights on this one.
