I’ve been loving my new Fiat 500e, but I’ve been wondering if it’s possible to retrofit the heated seats to get that cozy winter setup. I know there are aftermarket options out there that come with physical buttons, but I’d prefer a more seamless, factory-style integration that uses the screen controls, like the stock setup.

Is it something the dealership could do, or are there third-party solutions that offer a near-stock experience?

I looked into this for my 500e a while back, and while most aftermarket solutions don’t integrate with the screen controls, some come really close. Companies like Rostra offer kits that have discreet switches that blend nicely into the cabin. If you’re handy, you might even be able to wire them into existing buttons for a more OEM feel, but that’ll take some DIY skill or help from a specialist.

I think that would be a difficult job and needs programming to make it work properly.

Yeah, I get what they're saying, but maybe try asking your local mechanic if they can do it. If I were you, I wouldn't want to risk messing up my car and voiding the warranty.

heated seats are essential for winter comfort! Getting them retrofitted into your 500e with factory like touchscreen integration is difficult. Dealerships usually avoid custom electrical work due to warranty concerns and prefer using original parts. While aftermarket kits with physical buttons are readily available integrating them with the touchscreen is complex. You'd need a specialized auto-electrician familiar with the 500e's system and even then success isn't guaranteed. It might be simpler to use the aftermarket button setup or find a 500e that already has heated seats. It's too bad, because the original factory look is always preferred.
