I’ve always wondered why more EVs don’t let you set a charge percentage directly instead of just scheduling times. Would be way easier, especially if you only want to charge up to 80% for battery longevity. The Fiat 500e isn’t alone in this, a lot of EVs rely on time-based scheduling instead of percentage-based limits. I just set my charge timer and check it every now and then to make sure it doesn’t go too far.
I’ve figured out that aiming for around 80% for charging works best for me. Lately, I’ve been using a start and end time, and it’s been pretty spot on. Since my daily commute’s pretty steady, I’ve got a solid sense of how long it takes to hit that perfect 80%.
