Need some serious help with my 2014 500e. Trying to transfer my SiriusXM subscription from my old 2013 but the 2014 just won't grab the code. Seems like the telematics module might be dead, and the dealer wants anout $1200 to fix it, no thank you! Thinking about swapping the module from my old car instead, but clueless where it is and if it's a DIY job. Anyone else ever mess with the telematics module in a Fiat?

$1200 to fix this simple issue? hell nah man, just get it diagnosed using AlfaOBD and start from there. I don't think its a good idea to swap out modules from an old car to the present module that you have in your Fiat, instead of making things work it might even cause more problems for you. there are a lot of factors that you need to consider before swapping it out, just don't do it man

I’d probably skip the $1200 repair and go for something like a Bluetooth adapter or a portable satellite radio. Swapping the module could be a hassle with how VIN-locked some of these components are.

Quick update, the OBD did the trick! I did everything I could to avoid that $1200 cost and man did I work. Hahaha!

I totally agree, that $1200 repair seems like overkill. A Bluetooth adapter or satellite radio would definitely be a cheaper and easier fix. And yeah, dealing with VIN-locked parts can be a pain. I’m curious, what did the OP end up going with in the end?
