The anti-theft system goes off and car won't start

Hi, everyone!
So, I have some days off this week, and today I thought about some hours of walking through the city. There is like a little bay I usually go to, and a few minutes ago I approached it and leaned down to touch the water, and my key fob slipped from my pocket. I managed to get it fast, but now it is not working anymore. I am in the parking area waiting for your reply. The anti-theft system goes off when I want to start the car. Of course, the car isn't starting. Any thoughts, please?

Did you figure it out? What’s the magic fix you came up with? I accidentally took my key fob for a swim, and it’s all wet too!

Have you ever had to get a key fob reprogrammed? Was it quick, or did it take a while?

If you don’t have a working spare key, you might just have a shot at reviving that drenched one, kinda like a soaked cell phone! Just pop it open, give it a rinse if it’s been in salt water, and then dry it out really well, maybe even toss it in a bag of raw rice if you’re feeling fancy. Honestly, what do you have to lose? Give it a go!

Try searching for instructions on how to change the key battery and take the key apart carefully. Once you’ve done that, let it dry out completely. Chances are, it should work just fine once it’s dried out and any moisture is gone
